Team Theraputix was founded in 2006 by an individual with a vision and a passion for improving people’s quality of life, specifically in the area of neurological rehabilitation. To say that this clinic was a labour of love would be an understatement. The clinic was born out of an urgent need for advanced care in neurological rehabilitation. From there we expanded into the area of orthopedic rehabilitation.
We also recognized that there was a major gap between conventional rehabilitation methods and the technology available to effectively meet the rehabilitation needs of our community. This led us to further expand our services to include a full range of holistic treatments administered by our highly-trained and skilled staff.

Today, Team Theraputix is a client-centered, state-of-the art facility, dedicated to the treatment of Neurological and Catastrophic conditions. While our expertise is in neurological and catastrophic cases, Team Theraputix skillfully caters to orthopedic conditions and assists motor vehicle accident clients while helping them to achieve his or her unique functional goals.

On December 3, 2015 I was in a catastrophic car accident. I had brain damage, which affected my speech, my swallowing, a numbness in my tongue, I broke my arm and big toe, and also the right side of my body is weak. I was in a coma with the glasco scale of three. On October 2, 2017 I started oxygen therapy. After about three days I could see improvement. I am less fatigued, more alert, my speech is much better. My wife noticed my eye contact is much better, my arms are not as heavy when I put my arm on her shoulder. Also people say I look good, younger, and my skin is better. I feel the oxygen treatment has done me more good than any other treatments. I would recommend this treatment to anyone with brain damage.

The massage is great, it is done by experience masseuses who work with you to understand what your needs are, you feel like a new person after they are done with you.
The laser treatment is quick and painless and you and see results in just a few short visits.

On March 22nd, 2010, I suffered a major stroke and was admitted to St. Michael’s Hospital where I received great medical attention and started rehabilitation. I was then transferred to two rehabilitation centers sponsored by the Provincial Health Care System where I received great, but time-limited therapy and rehabilitation. In August, 2010 I was discharged....
On March 22nd, 2010, I suffered a major stroke and was admitted to St. Michael’s Hospital where I received great medical attention and started rehabilitation.
I was then transferred to two rehabilitation centers sponsored by the Provincial Health Care System where I received great, but time-limited therapy and rehabilitation. In August, 2010 I was discharged. Once I was home I was told it was up to me to figure out where I was to go for private therapy and rehabilitation.
Thanks to my son and the internet I was able to find Team Theraputix, at 1985 Leslie Street in Toronto where I now receive therapy and rehabilitation.
When I met the manager of Theraputix, I was made to feel so welcome and full of hope that she could help me. After a comprehensive assessment with her staff, she spoke to me in great length and with care about the treatment plan goals and what to expect from treatment.
The moment I enter Team Theraputix there is a feeling of warmth and a family-like atmosphere. From the Front Desk staff to Maintenance, every staff member at Team Theraputix contributes to the hopeful and encouraging environment here.
At Team Theraputix I receive therapy on the lokomat (a robotic- assisted walking device) to help me learn how to walk again. I also receive hyperbaric oxygen treatments, naturopathic/acupuncture treatments, massage therapy and chiropractic care for my legs and arms, in conjunction with physiotherapy treatments.
One of the great advantages of Team Theraputix is that everyone who works with me understands my file and my goals in trying to walk again and regain use of my left arm after my paralysis from the stroke. When I came to Theraputix, I felt as though I was getting one-stop-shopping for all of my treatments. The lokomat device has helped me to walk much better with my cane and has helped my left foot walk from heel to toe. The lokomat is also helping me to rethink how to walk. The hyperbaric oxygen treatments have helped tremendously with my balance. I am also receiving orthopedic care as my walking pattern with my cane has started to improve.
Since I have been at Theraputix receiving treatment, I have felt encouraged and hopeful, as the team always looks out for my best interests and help me to fulfill my treatment goals.

The Lokomat is my favourite part of therapy because it helps me walk and use my hands and feet properly. When I come to therapy I look forward to seeing Tim because he is happy and funny. Joey is cool too, he works hard to help me in therapy.

I like how all the staff get to know you and treat you like part of the team in your recovery. I would definitely recommend!
